Affirmation
I agree that a love of reading is a great gift for a parent to pass on to his or her child

Dear Parents/Care Givers,
What Next?
We are exploring how P&C’s can operate differently in schools these days. It is true that parents are very busy involved in work or other events and school needs are difficult to “fit in” from time to time.
The school is looking for parents/caregivers who have time to share with our school to:
We appreciate the fact that parents are increasingly unable to have a lot of time to give our school, but any time is valuable time to our children’s future and well-being.
Please let me know if you are interested in joining a group of dedicated and like-minded parents to share the future of our children with us as a school – the partnership between home and school has never been more vital to the social/emotional and intellectual growth of our children. We have important work to do together.
Please contact me at school through the front office if interested in joining a vital group of parents raise the educational and social awareness of our community.
Your Move
Parking and traffic flow are issues that are constantly being brought up. You may help this situation by supporting your children in walking or riding to school. Ms Wall is doing a marvelous job in promoting this at Caladenia. We have a meeting between the City of Gosnells and the Dept of Education to discuss these issues soon. However, no solution will completely solve the need if too many students are driven to school each and every day. We need your help. Meanwhile, be patient and drive carefully and legally.
Term 4
We don’t have class parties or down-time watching movies in the last few weeks of school as we understand and have duty of care for all children in terms of food allergies and we use all available time we have in completing and keeping our children engaged and actively learning up to the last day of the year, when we celebrate the coming holidays through a community celebration of Christmas in Australia.

Wheel Chair Rebound
On Tuesday 23 November, Clint from Rebound WA visited Caladenia, giving students the chance to experience a perspective of what life is like for someone who is in a wheelchair. The event was organised by Oliver Kennedy, Year 5 student, who completed all the planning, booking and coordination of the day, supported by his brother Davis (Year 6). The students were given the chance to familiarise themselves with how the wheelchair functioned, were taught how to dribble the ball whilst in the chair and eventually got to play a small game. It was an amazing day for all staff and students involved.
Art
Year 1 printing, pattern and symmetry
The wonderful year 1 students have been exploring shape, line and pattern this semester through a printing project.
They have created some wonderful Symmetrical patterns, each unique in its design and have experimented with repetition to for large scale panels. I am so proud of each student and loved all the individual patterns created, simply by changing the scale of the shape used or its direction. Lots of happy faces around the room. Well done Year 1, keep up the awesome work.

Year 3 Room 21- Miss Donica
This term in Room 21 we have been learning about poetry in our writing lessons. We learnt about different types of poems including Shape Poems and Haikus. Shape Poems are poems that are shaped like the thing or object that is being written about.
Haikus are Japanese poems that have 17 syllables, but they do not have to rhyme like some other poems. There is a 5, 7, 5 rule that we need to follow when creating a Haiku. We made up our own class Haiku, we hope you enjoy it.
