Japanese is the selected language at Caladenia Primary School and is taught from Year Three to Year Six. Students learn to speak, read, and write in hiragana as they move through the upper years. They are also exposed to Japanese culture and explore many different parts of Japanese life.
The Japanese Team use the Caladenia Explicit Instruction model along with Kagan structures to teach the different components of Japanese in a scaffolded approach across the year levels. The Team and the Visual Arts Team have collaborated on a range of projects that resulted in displayed exhibitions.
