HASS helps us to build our students into emerging citizens. Knowing that the world is bigger than Canning Vale, is vital for students to understand their place in it and how everything is inter-connected.

Students are taught to question things and use research skills to build a body of evidence to support this research. Problem and solving and communication skills are also at the forefront of every year level planning documents. The Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework (Department of Education Western Australia) is weaved through all components of the HASS Scope and Sequences at Caladenia Primary School. We, as a culturally responsive school, engage all members of our community, to create welcoming and supportive learning environments.
