Caladenia Primary School commenced in 2007 and has grown in enrolment and quality achievements to be a highly valued and effective school in its community.
It is our intention to be a centre of excellence in teaching and learning, while maintaining a strong sense of family values and reflecting on the aspirations of its community in all we do.
Child Centred. Quality Driven.
We work hard at growing students who can support and live with each other in this ever changing world, through a quality education program and driven by high standards in all we do and say.
The Music Department
Caladenia is rich in music offerings – we offer instrumental music (both private and SIMS) and a School Band and two School Choirs. Our students are gaining a real love of music and productions.
All teaching and learning programs in the school offer interesting, engaging and high quality activities that make learning fun and real for students.
Our senior Student Councillors lead by example and operate a full school Student Council with Reps from each class. We are proud of the level of integrity and respect that they show and receive in leading the students of the school.
Caladenia is a special place to grow and support one another through active team building and genuine care for one another each and every day.
We are committed to ensuring effective partnerships with our community through interactive surveys, open discussions and quality feedback, which in turn enlighten and formalise positive directions for the future.
While we develop every student to reach their potential, we also address a key initiative for us in the education of high achieving students, through whole school commitment to identification and implementation of effective programs. Our intention at Caladenia is that we support all students. It is our duty and responsibility to ensure that every student is afforded high quality opportunities for success.
Caladenia and Wattle Grove Primary Schools, through achieving Independent Public School status in 2012, initiated a Multi-age Academic Class (MAC), which caters for high achieving Years 4, 5 and 6 students from within our school. This class works on lateral and vertical extension of the curriculum.
Our school is characterised by its highly structured nature for effective teaching and learning and whole school decision-making processes. We take a very holistic view in the development of the student through caring, nurturing and building resilience of each child so that they can become excellent citizens in the community. Our classroom block structuring reflects family groupings as a means of recognising the importance of age appropriate distribution of year level placements.
We are a highly successful school both in High Care and High Achievement and have been for many years. It was a deserved acknowledgement in 2019 that we were selected as the WA Public School of the Year after several years of excellence in education.
